Have my 2007Ws graded??
 

So got part of my 50 2007w uncirculated (SAE) from the mint, going to the fun show in west palm beach next week, should I get my one box of 15 graded as early releases? I can submit directly to them at the show since I'm a member but what are the chances of getting any MS 70s, that's what Im hoping for, have them in the sealed box so first issued not a problem.

I only got a couple - cause I don't think they will be worth as much as last years - but I will get them graded cause they are worth more if they are!

(NOTE - Bullion people don't bother harping on how its a precieved value and only to collectors - we know that, but the fact is people WILL pay more for them graded - idiots or not!!)

HOWEVER - I may be wrong about this - but I don't think PCGS is grading them above 69, and I heard, but not sure, that NGC has graded a lot less at MS 70, and less day by day, than usual as of this moment. (PCGS isn't grading the regular eagles over MS 69 do to a problem with them developing white spots - I haven't heard any difference with these but someone else may know different - they are only just now getting out!)

I talked PCGS this morning - they WILL grade these coins at MS70 if they deserve it!!

If you get it in within 30 days of the release of the coin, they will give it a First Strike label as well, sealed box or not.....after 30 days the box must be sealed from the Mint for that label.

Again, we know the label is a bit of a sham (its not the first coin off the presses - just the first to be mailed out the door) - but people DO put a premium on them and they ARE selling for more! So the First Strike label is a perk for being fast on the grading.

I have sealed boxes with printouts of mint orders showing shipping on June 13, I see they have problems and the date for the others keeps getting pushed back, now July 20 so this could very well be a low mintage year also, I think I will get the box of 15 graded and keep the rest sealed.

Thought that , dont know if pcgs will be at the fun show, I spoke to NGC and they will, seems like they are gaining a very large share of the sae business and commanding prices as well as pcgs now, more so than past years.

I keep hearing stuff - and my sense of it all is that the Mint greatly overestimated how much they could mint in a year - and production problems have pushed dates back. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

For example - there were suppose to be Buffaloes in various increments, but after all the announcements turns out they put them out in 1 oz, but not the other sizes. <o:p></o:p>

They have SO MANY different coins, state quarters, Presidential dollars, First Ladies, three different eagles - I expected problems and am surprised they didn't.<o:p></o:p>

Low mintage - now that I am not sure about - it might be but then I think - well, if they get them minted and out - then it should be a normal mintage.......<o:p></o:p>

why is it that the proofs are listed, http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs...category=10191 and the Ws listed at your link, but what about the regular SAEs? I guess I expected to see three different SAE products listed and I can only find these two.

They are mainly cause they are grading fast (and easy) for the TV coin shows - after the Buffaloes, NGC starting losing some of their credibility and now PCGS will learn a bit more on re-sale........also check Ebay and APMEX, just two of many sources, and you'll see PCGS is getting more for similar items because their grading is considered by many (and I am one too after the Buffaloes) to be better.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

NGC graded something like 9 times more MS70 Buffaloes than PCGS.......because they were told to do it fast and get it out the door for TV sales.<o:p></o:p>

Also check prices for the 20th Anniversary Silver sets, or individual coins in both places. Plus, I have had numerous coin dealers tell me they do not consider NGC as good as PCGS - NGC is for when you want a coin you don't think PCGS will grade as high as you'd like it. A lot of dealers have said that or similar things.<o:p></o:p>

And, for the record, I am not connected to ANY grading service or coin business.........I am trying to be impartial and fair here - but the prices on the two Do show a marked difference, and I do know it starting getting out of hand with the Buffalo grading.<o:p></o:p>

You can't buy the regular sae at the mint, has to be from a dealer.

Agreed, for a while NGC was going like a mill, PCGS still stands as the most recongized grader. I think NGC finally realized they were losing their respect in the market and turned around.

As someone else said - the regular uncirculated coin has no W and you can not buy it from the mint - only coin dealers!!
